Church of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Szałsza was built around the mid-seventeenth century. However, the first temple in this place stood already in the fifteenth century. The nave and presbytery of the existing church were erected in a log structure, and the tower - in a pole structure. The whole thing is covered with shingles. A small bell with a bell-shaped helmet rises from the roof. The greatest treasure inside is the Gothic image of the Madonna and Child surrounded by the apostles.
The temple is oriented. It consists of a tower built in the pole technology, a wide nave and a narrower chancel, which have been erected on the framework. The roofs over the nave and the chancel are gable, and the tower is crowned with a tented roof. Above the nave there is a pretty little bell with a bell-shaped helmet. A small sacristy was added to the chancel. The walls and roof of the building are shingled. Several baroque and neo-baroque elements have been preserved in the interior furnishings. The most valuable item is the Gothic image of the Mother of God with the Child surrounded by the apostles, probably painted in 1460. Next to the church, there is a tombstone with the coat of arms of the long-time owners of the local property - von Groeling. Their palace building is very close.
