Patoka is a hamlet of the village of Panoszów, located on the Częstochowa - Opole line. Since the nineteenth century, this area, thanks to the rich clay deposits, has been associated with the ceramics industry.
The brickyard in Patoka has been operating for 120 years, from the very beginning using the raw material from the surrounding rich clay deposits. In the nineteenth and twentieth century, when there was a fashion for smoking tobacco in ceramic pipes, they were produced in the area several hundred thousand a year, and specialists from the Netherlands were brought in for production. Building bricks, clinker bricks and roof tiles were also produced.
After the Second World War, the brickyard was nationalized.
