On August 31, 1994, the construction of the church began according to the construction design by Ing. Henryk Górczyński and MSc. arch. Sławomir Kaczorowski. On May 26, 1995, Bishop Jan Wieczorek and Bishop of Togo Ambrose Djoliba laid the cornerstone.
During the pilgrimage of John Paul II to the diocese, three bells were consecrated: John Paul II, Katarzyna and Grzegorz, funded by former and present parishioners.
The construction was crowned with the consecration of the church by the bishop of Gliwice, Jan Wieczorek on October 8, 2000.
