In 1998, on the initiative of railway enthusiasts and sympathizers, for whom it is important to save the historic rolling stock, facilities, infrastructure and all exhibits related to the history of railways from oblivion - the Society for the Protection of Railway Monuments and the Organization of Open-Air Museums in Pyskowice was established.
The aim of the Society is to create an open-air museum of rolling stock on the basis of a closed depot and depot complex at the Pyskowice station.
