The history of this small temple is very interesting. The wooden church comes from the summer residence of L. K. Ballestrem, located in a forest area called Brzoza. It was built in 1928, and in the 1950s it was moved to Pawełek. The facility is located on the Wooden Architecture Trail.
The beginnings of the church of Our Lady of Fatima in Pawełki are related to the activity of one of the owners of Kochcice - Count Ludwik Karol von Ballestrem. At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, he set up a cultivation of an ornamental shrub in the Brzoza wilderness - Katawbijski rhododendron, specimens of which ended up in the palace park over time. Nearby, at the Nowa Brzoza pond, for the convenience of his and his guests, he erected a wooden hunting manor (around 1900) and in 1928 a chapel dedicated to the patron saint of hunters - St. Hubert. In the 1950s, the authorities moved the manor house to the Provincial Park of Culture and Recreation in Chorzów, where it served as a restaurant "Łania" and after some time ... it burned down. The chapel was saved by the inhabitants of Pawełek, who secretly moved it to their village in 1956. Administrative authorities imposed a severe penalty on them in the amount of PLN 6,000. then zloty! In the new place, the temple received a new call - Our Lady of Fatima. The building also saw some changes in its external appearance. Currently, it is an oriented church, built of logs on a framework, with a short nave closed with a three-sided presbytery. The former thatch was replaced by a ceramic tile. On the south side there is a small sacristy, on the west - a porch. The signature is crowned with a tin helmet. In the modest interior, the central place is occupied by the main altar with the image of Our Lady of Fatima. The temple is located on the Wooden Architecture Trail of the Silesian Voivodeship. In the center of the village, a stone cross from 1899 is worth seeing. In the Brzoza wilderness a chapel with a model of the former St. Hubert.
