After reaching the branch line to the end of the section, when the embankment is no longer visible, turn left at the crossroads, to the west. A winding forest road leads us, on a certain section it is blocked by forest cultivation. Then to the left and along the fence, and around its bend we will meet the grinder. What is a grinder? It looks like a very low hill with a diameter of about 10 - 11 meters. How low? About 20 cm, exceptionally 30 cm, which makes it practically imperceptible at the size of 10 m. From antiquity to modern times, grinders were used to carry out pyrolysis, i.e. dry distillation of wood, as a result of which mainly charcoal was obtained. More and more charcoal was used in the smelting of iron in the following centuries. There are hundreds of woodpeckers in our forests, but it is difficult to recognize and identify them. With all this, according to the Act "On the protection of monuments", each spit is a monument, but the visual confirmation of its existence in a given place requires appropriate knowledge 13 . No wonder that it ended up in a number of objects that we visit on our archaeological tour.
