One of the most picturesque sites of Western Poland, the landscape park protects the vast, periodically flooded meadows which are the home of a multitude of valuable flora and fauna species - in particular, the local avian population - as well as the local pine forests with mid-forest peat bogs and lakes. The landscape park also features the Krzesin-Bytom polder, with the ruins of an old village of Szydłów (German: Schiedlo), built on the site of an ancient Slavic fort.
