Gosthorze is a Slavic fortified settlement located in a particularly picturesque area, with the only cliff river bank on the Polish side of the Oder. The cliff rises to over 25 metres above the river and has a walking path which offers a magnificent vista of the Oder valley meadows. Aside from the landscape values, this place is also of historical relevance, as it was the site of one of the larger and most important Slavic boroughs which rose to prominence between the 9th and the 12th Century.
